William’s career began in the Oil & Gas sector, where he developed a passion for project management and cost control. Over time, he realised his strength lay in aligning technical expertise with business strategy, ensuring every investment created measurable value. That focus naturally led him into construction consultancy, with experience spanning Mining, Energy, and Data Centers.
Defining Projects and Career Milestones
One of William’s early turning points was working on the Anglo American Minas Rio Project, one of Brazil’s largest mining undertakings. Later, he led cost management for hyperscale Data Centers, refining his skills in negotiation and strategic decision-making in high-stakes environments.
Among his proudest achievements is Brazil’s Data Center Program (270MW) projects worth more than USD 7 billion. Through detailed analysis and negotiation, William and his team delivered USD 600 million in savings, proving the impact of disciplined cost management and collaboration.
Lessons from Challenges
Navigating large-scale projects during the COVID-19 pandemic was one of William’s toughest challenges. With supply chains disrupted and costs volatile, he learned to lead with agility, maintain clear communication, and make fast, data-driven decisions. His key takeaway:Â
